ROGRAMME COUPE DâEUROPE DE CARROM 2006 :

St Rome de Dolan (Gorges du Tarn) - France

This year, France has this honour to organise the 10th Eurocup.

Here are main elements set up at this time.

Program

Organising team, helped by our partner Carrom Art and all voluntaries are proposing you the following program, under the auspices of the European Carrom Confederation:

From monday June 26 to thursday 29: coaching given by Arun Deshpande, the famous international champion that everybody knows

Thursday 29 and friday 30th of June: interational umpire examination. Exact dates and times for writing, oral and practice will be given by ECC

Friday 30: opening ceremony, followed by double and team events

Saturday July 1rst and sunday 2: single event (11 rounds)

Sunday evening: prize distribution and closing ceremony, followed by the gala dinner and, depending on budget, magician show, fireworks and orchestra

Monday 3: end of Eurocup after having cleared everything before 11.30 am for school group arriving at 12 am.

Housing reserved until monday morning, but if some players (/families) want to stay longer we'll have to be informed for booking

A detailed program will be available on our web site before June 15, and a booklet will be given to each participant at arrival, including rules, organisation,
housing, etc.

Maximum number of participants will be:

120 for double and single tournament. Number of French players can not be over half of total competitors

20 for Arun's coaching

10 for umpire examination

Booking

Booking list is opened since today, until May 22

The number of competitors for each country is given in the following table and has been based on number of players in Eurocup 2005. This table needs to be validated by ECC to be official.

By the end of May, this list will be adjusted depending on waiting lists for each country after regular contacts with European Federations and ECC.
Priority to adjustment will be given to countries that are given now less than 15 participants.

Due date for receiving registrations and payments is on June 1rst

After that day, non validated (payed) registrations will open waiting list. For French players the order will be the national official ranking.

Meals and housing

Two buildings ("Grande Maison" and "Les Cedres") plus two lodges for 6 people will be available. See web pages for more details at http://www.carrom.net/eurocup/

All meals will be taken in the Main House

Ticket will be given at arrival and required for each meal

Prices

The folllowing prices are full board, until monday morning:

Required registration to CEI Pierre Monestie
- housing
- breakfasts
- lunches
- week diners
- gala dinner
- gala evening and show
- Eurocup fees

The campground is just 100 meter from competition site (see slides on web site), dominating the Gorges du Tarn. Negociation are on the way for discount prices

Seuls les repas du soir pourront etre pris en dehors du centre. La somme de 10 Euros (a  confirmer) sera alors deduite par diner non pris sur place.

Only week dinners can be taken apart from organisation, in the condition of having been specified with pre registration. 9 Euros will be discounted for each dinner not taken with organisation.

Warning: Breakfasts, lunches and gala dinner cannot be retrieved from payment

Due to sensitive smoke detectors in all buildings, smoking is strictly forbidden inside any building.

Respect of site and cleanness will be greatly appreciated (papers, plastic, cigarettes, bottles)

Geographical site :

Dominating the river and the Gorges du Tarn, the Pierre Monestier center is ideal for our competition:


- unique site for all activities: this small typical stone houses village is wonderful. All buildings for Eurocup are close to each other among the village, only one small touristic road passes close to it. No cars are needed during the whole stay.

- no noise, a large room with a great view over the river will be a magic place for the competition

- the restaurant is downstairs the main building with real meals made by professionals

- an easy access by road (motorway exit not far from village), plane or train

- lots of facilities on site: washing and drying machines, pay phone

lots of leasure equipment:
- large swimming pool by th main house with a wonderful view over the gorges du Tarn

- foot-ball ground, tennis, badminton, petanque, kids place

- TV, foot table, electronic darts game, video games, flipper

the best time in the year:

- days are the longest in the year, with beautiful sunsets and very warm weather

- the world football cup that we will share together

Tourism

You'll see on web site a lot of various activities if you want to stay for some vacation in the area.

We will propose you some activities during the week before competition:

- "acrobranche" circuit

- rafting over the Tarn

- some visits (chateau de Severac, pont de Millau, caves de Roquefort, ...)

- walking excursion

All the organisation team members will do their best to offer you a memorable Eurocup.
